I’ve spent the last few weeks deep in the middle of rewriting and expanding Capheleon Night, and for the first time in a long time, the story finally feels like it’s becoming what I always imagined it could be.


A lot of the atmosphere in this series comes from real places around the Ozarks and the lake, especially during storm season. Some scenes have existed in fragments in my head for years, but seeing the characters and the mystery finally start connecting together on the page has been one of the most rewarding parts of returning to this project.


I’m currently working through Chapter 15, and the deeper I get into the story, the more I realize how much this world has been shaped by memory, grief, hidden places, and the feeling that something has always existed just beneath the surface.

Living in the Missouri Ozarks, many of the settings and atmosphere in Capheleon Night are inspired by storm-heavy skies, winding lake roads, dense forests, and the uneasy beauty of small towns after dark.


Capheleon Night began years ago as scattered ideas, unfinished scenes, and characters that refused to completely leave her alone. After stepping away from writing for a long time, she eventually returned to the story and discovered it had grown into something far more personal than she originally expected.


When she is not writing, she spends her time reading, working, and spoiling her dogs far more than she probably should.
