I’ve always loved stories, especially fantasy. Some of my favorite memories growing up involve getting completely lost in books and imaginary worlds, and somewhere along the way this story started building itself in my head too.

Capheleon Night actually began years ago. I had characters, pieces of scenes, and ideas about another world existing alongside our own, but life got chaotic and eventually the story got buried beneath everything else. Work, stress, everyday life. I stopped writing for a long time and honestly thought maybe it would stay that way.

Recently I noticed my old Facebook page for the story was suddenly getting views again, and for some reason that made me open everything back up and start looking through it. Once I did, it all came rushing back surprisingly fast. The world felt different than it used to, more grounded and emotional than the version I originally imagined, but it still felt familiar.

One of the biggest reasons this story matters so much to me is Magnus.

Magnus was my dog when I first started building this world years ago. He was one of the best dogs I’ve ever known, unbelievably loyal, protective, stubborn, gentle, and somehow always aware of what people were feeling before they said a word. Losing him was incredibly hard, and I think part of why I came back to this story now is because writing Magnus into these pages feels like getting to keep a part of him with me.

So while Capheleon Night is absolutely a fantasy story with storms, hidden worlds, strange memories, and all the things I’ve always loved reading, it’s also personal in a way I didn’t fully expect when I started writing again.

I still have a long way to go, but for the first time in years I’m genuinely excited about this world again.
